Mary Lou K. Logan, 86, a long time resident of Wappingers Falls, NY, passed away on April 28, 2018 at her home in Woodland Pond of New Paltz. She was born in Northampton, MA on June 23, 1931, the daughter of Joseph R. & Kathryn Price Kenney. Mary Lou graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in 1949 and Simmons College in Boston, MA in 1953. Following her college graduation she went to work for the J. Walter Thompson Advertising Agency. When she left the advertising agency she returned to the area and went on to be a Teacher with the Wappingers School District in Wappingers Falls, NY.
On June 2, 1956 in St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie, NY, Mary Lou married Thomas E. Logan, Jr. After raising her children she went back to school and received a Master's Degree from Adelphi College in Social Work. She was employed at VAMC-Castle Point, NY as a Social Worker.
Mary Lou was a member of A.A.U. Women, Crusillo, and was involved with the Women's Prison Movement. She was well known for her perennial gardens at home, a voracious reader and lover of Chamber Music and Opera.
Survivors include her sons: Mark T. (Kathleen) Logan of Hopewell Jct., NY; Michael K. (Joel) Logan of Pleasant Valley, NY; daughter: Kathryn Logan of Kingston, NY and a sister: Patricia "Pat" K. (Richard) Hall of Poughkeepsie, NY. There are 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband : Thomas E. Logan, Jr. in 2005 and a son: Thomas P. Logan in 2006.
There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018, at 11AM in The Christ Episcopal Church, 20 Carroll St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
