Anna Marie Amodeo, a life-time resident of the Hudson Valley, passed away peacefully on Sunday the 22nd of October.
Daughter of the late Clementina and Samuel Fasciani, she was born in Wappingers Falls, NY on February 24, 1934. On September 15, 1956, she married the love of her life John V. Amodeo at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Poughkeepsie, NY. Anna beamed whenever she told the story of meeting Johnny at Nick Benny’s restaurant in Poughkeepsie. They fell in love soon after. Johnny left to serve in the Korean War and when he returned they were married.
Her loving husband John predeceased her on Oct. 19, 2011. Her daughters Joanne (Poughkeepsie) and Phyllis (Los Angeles) survive her. Additional survivors include her three granddaughters Fallon, Amber, Jasmine; two great grandchildren, Skylar and Maddox; her sister Rose; her sisters in law Jackie, Peggy and Karen. Her brother Gino and her sister Philomena predeceased her.
Anna's daughter, Joanne would like to personally thank the Pines at Poughkeepsie for their loving and compassionate care they gave Anna every day.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. There will be no calling hours. The Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
