William J. Gore, 85 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center after a long illness. William was born in Manhattan, NY on December 2, 1931. On July 10, 1954 Bill married Gertrude (Trudy) Boedege who survives at home. He served in the Army for two years and was stationed in Berlin, Germany where his wife joined him. After he returned, the family moved to Poughkeepsie, NY where he was a letter carrier for 31 years.
In addition to his wife, Bill is also survived by their three sons, Michael Gore and his wife Lori Beth, Steven Gore and Peter Gore and his companion Cindy Androvich. He has three granddaughters, Jennifer Gore Cuthbert and her two children, Julia Cuthbert and Colin Cuthbert, Ashley Gore and Kelly Gore. Also a sister-in-law, Florence Bauer, 1 niece Linda Romanski and 4 nephews, Robert Bauer, Richard Bauer, Donald Bauer and William Bauer. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Mary Kate and James Gore and his brother James P. Gore.
There are no calling hours. Internment will be private at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the William G.
