Mildred D. Baker, 93, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. A lifelong resident, Mildred was born in Poughkeepsie on August 25, 1923 to the late Norman J. and Margaret Denahour Meddaugh. On June 29, 1941 she married Harold L. Baker at St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie and he predeceased her on June 23, 2000. Mildred worked as a self-employed hairdresser in Poughkeepsie and she was a member of Holy Trinity Church and the Senior Citizens Club 60. Mildred is survived by her three sons, Richard Baker of Lake George, NY, John Phillip Baker of Beacon, NY, Robert Baker of Highland and her daughter Sandra Baker-Gray of Upper Marlboro, MD. Also surviving are her two sisters, Doris Grey of Poughkeepsie and Phyllis Croshier of South Carolina, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband who predeceased her, she was also predeceased by two sisters Eleanor Hawley and Irene Walker. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Church and burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
