Margaret Monti, 54, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, passed away on December 13, 2016 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center . She was born in Yonkers, N.Y. on January 26, 1962, the daughter of Peter & Geraldyne Smith Stafford, Jr. A graduate of Mercy College, she was the Coordinator for the Marist Card at Marist College.
Margaret married Joseph Monti on October 6, 1984 in The Visitation Church in the Bronx, NY. He survives at home.
Her family and friends were the most important things to her and she loved being a part of the Marist Community.
Survivors include her son: Kevin Monti; daughters: Amanda & Gabriella Monti all of Poughkeepsie, NY; brother: Peter Stafford, III of Poughkeepsie, NY; sisters: Ellen Stafford of Wappingers Falls, NY and Eileen Stafford of the Bronx, NY. Nieces: Kristen & Alle and nephews: Jonathan & Nicholas also survive.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 15, 2016 2-8 PM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son F.H., Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 1PM. Burial is at the convenience of the family.
