Gaetano "Kenny" Costanzo, 86, of the Town of Poughkeepsie, passed away at Northern Dutchess Hospital on November 1, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 27, 1930 in Mechanicville, NY, the son of Joseph & Nancy Schiavo Costanzo.
Kenny married Catherine V. Zaleski on July 13, 1957 at The Immaculate Conception Church in Watervliet, NY. She predeceased him on December 12, 2013. He was employed by IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY as an Analyst in Production Control for 32 years. He retired in 1987.
Kenny was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club and The Thunder Road Cruisers. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church and was a Veteran of the US Army during the Korean War.
Kenny could be found working on his Classic Cars or in his wood working shop. He loved and enjoyed making wood cut outs for his family and friends. Kenny was the kindest and most loving person anyone could ask for. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather also known as "Boppy" as he was called and was full of life and lived it to the fullest.
Survivors include his son: John J.(Donna) Costanzo; daughters: Cathy(Bob) Mahoney and Karen Costanzo all of Poughkeepsie, NY. He has a brother: Joseph Costanzo; sisters: Carmella Hein; Nancy Garland all of Mechanicville, NY; grandchildren: Theresa(Saurav), Robbie, Kristi(Pete), Kenny, Michael, Shawn and several nieces and nephews. Kenny was predeceased by his brother: Frank Costanzo and sister: Catherine DeMarco.
Visitation will be Friday, November 4, 2016, 4-8 PM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son F.H., Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 5, 2016, at 10 AM, at St. Joseph's Church, 9 Lafayette Place, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Poughkeepsie, NY with Military Honors. Memorial Donations may be made to the Charity of your Choice.
