Frances (Fran) L. Sorce, 68, of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at home, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She never complained or gave up hope, and in the end accepted her fate. Born in Poughkeepsie on June 21, 1952, she was the daughter of John A. and Catherine Cassidy Ryan. She was a loving wife for 50 years and a loving mother and grandmother. Frances married Peter J. Sorce on February 20, 1971 in Poughkeepsie and he survives her at home. In addition to her husband, Peter, Frances is survived by her children; son Christopher (Michelle) Sorce of Gallatin, TN and son Timothy (Michelle) Sorce of Hyde Park, NY. Frances is also survived by her sisters Margaret (Peter) Doran of Poughkeepsie and Gail (Greg) Walsh, of Florida, as well as her adored grandchild Gabriel. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Frances was predeceased by her son Peter J. Sorce in 2006 and by her brother John in 2009. Frances was very involved with her crafts, sewing, quilting, and gardening. She was a member of the Dutchess Quilters, Stamping Up and Jazzercise. She loved those times spent with her many friends. Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 4:00 - 7:00pm at the William G. Miller & Son Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Parish. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, where she will be buried alongside her Son.
