JANEEN GREEN was born January 9, 1970 in Queens, New York. She was the youngest of the two children of Charles and Rose Mary Bennett; both of her parents and her older sister Yvette Bennett have preceded her in death. Janeen fell asleep in death suddenly on Saturday February 6, 2021. She is survived by her loving husband David W. Green, her beloved daughter Setishia Roberts, devoted son in law Jason Roberts, her precious grandson Anthony (AJ) Roberts, her best friend Michelle Ransom and her honorary older sister Teiqua McRae as well as a host of wonderful friends, family co-workers and the brothers & sisters who all shared her faith.
Janeen graduated from Roosevelt High School & Ridley- Lowell Business & Technical Institute. The skills she acquired enabled her to always find work that supported her and her daughter Setishia.
She enjoyed talking to people & could find something to talk about even to strangers. The ability to talk to people came in very handy when she started working at Central Hudson in 2012 in their customer service department. Janeen really enjoyed working at Central Hudson and her wonderful group of co-workers.
This love of people took on a new meaning once she started studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses and was baptized on June 28, 2003. Janeen never held back from sharing an encouraging word from the bible with her co-workers, family and neighbors. Janeen worked part time which allowed her to have a career as a pioneer. She pioneered for over nine years along with her daughter teaching the bible to others as a member of the Arlington Poughkeepsie Congregation.
Janeen married the love of her life, David W. Green on April 16, 2016. What started out as a friendship blossomed into a love that was bonded by their mutual love for their God Jehovah. It was David who first introduced Janeen to the truth and encouraged her to have her own personal study of the bible. Janeen and David loved working in the ministry together and enjoyed having friends over to their home to enjoy food, games, and laughter.
Janeen was known for her contagious smile, her quick wit, fierce loyalty, solid faith in Jehovah and her need to make sure everyone around her used hand sanitizer.
