Dolores Mary (Aiello) Viani, 86, passed away to be with Jesus on Sunday February 7th, 2021 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
Dolores was born on May 10th, 1934. She was the daughter of Leonard and Antionette (Triola) Aiello.

Dolores is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Alfonso Viani, having been high school sweethearts. They both graduated from Poughkeepsie High School and married in 1954.

Also surviving are their four children Dr. Alan (Shelly) Viani of Poughkeepsie, NY ; Thomas (Pamela) Viani of Pleasant Valley, NY; Paul (Sandra) Viani of Hyde Park NY; Robert (Kathleen) Viani of Pleasant Valley, NY. In addition, she has two surviving sisters, Francine Pfeffer and Bonnie Peterson. Dolores is survived by her 9 grandchildren Jenna Pascale, Julianne Braen, Jaclyn DaSilva; Amy Knox and Elizabeth Viani; Eric and Kayla Viani; and Daniel and Rachel Viani ; along with 11 great grandchildren. Her happiest moments were when she was with “her gang”.

Dolores was born, lived, worked and raised her family in Poughkeepsie, New York for her whole life. She was extremely organized which helped her in her career working at Duso Chemical Co as a bookkeeper for over 25 years. She volunteered at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for many years. She loved to cook and of course was especially good at homemade Italian meals. She was a talented seamstress and was always fixing and patching our clothes as children along with making some mean curtains. As a 2nd generation Italian, she made sure to pass down the family traditions. She lived a very healthy and active life working out at Planet Fitness and still bowling up until the pandemic. She loved playing cards and going to the casinos with her many friends and loving husband. Dolores loved to entertain, had a great personality, and loved her life and especially her family who loved her equally as much. The family would like to thank the nursing staff and physicians at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital for their outstanding care and kindness.

There are no calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be Friday, February 12th, 2021 at Mount Carmel Church, 95 Mill St, Poughkeepsie NY 12601 at 10am.
