It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hugh E. West III.
“Hughie“ was born on May 12, 1949 to Hugh & Catherine West (Weber), A lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, Hughie was an avid gardener who enjoyed art, music, and firmly believed that all who wander are not necessarily lost. Although his travels took him across the country, he always returned home to Poughkeepsie, where he was employed by Rehab Programs (Abilities First). There he met Theresa Tancredi. The couple were married in 1985 and he continued to work there until his retirement in 2019.
Hughie will be dearly missed by his wife, Theresa; his brothers, Jeffrey (Robin), Tim (Debbie), David & sister Jill Carlon; as well as many cousins, nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents & his sisters Kathleen Michaels & Martha Jean West.
As per Hughie's wishes, his ashes will be scattered at a Memorial service to be held at a later date
